Priviledge
I wholeheartedly admit that I’m privileged, and I’ll never pretend otherwise. A lot of advantages I have weren’t earned by me, they were given. But what is in my control is what I choose to do with them.
I show up every day and give it everything I’ve got, because the least I can do is turn my opportunities into something meaningful, not only for myself but for the people around me too. My hope is that by becoming the best version of myself, I can uplift others too.
I’ve come to realise that privilege isn’t just about having money or comfort. I’ve met people who seem to ‘have it all’ but feel lost, and people with very little who carry unbelievable strength, purpose and resilience.
There are people out there who would give anything for things we sometimes take for granted. That’s why privilege isn’t defined by what we have, it’s defined by how we use it.
I want to use mine to give back, to help others and to make the world a better place. I choose to grow, stay grounded, and to show up with gratitude.
If everything is handed to you on a silver spoon, you never learn how to deal with pain, failure and rejection. Learning how to fall, and how to get back up again is a privilege in itself. Sometimes the greatest privilege is having nothing to lose, because from there every win counts.
Pressure is a privilege, and so is growth. If I’m lucky enough to rise, I want to make sure I’m lifting others with me. I can’t change where I started, but I can choose the way I move forward; with purpose. I plan to use what I’ve been given to do something that matters.
